She graduated  in 2011 from the Taiwan National University of the Arts.

She decided to leave Taiwan to further her dance education and moved to Germany to study at the Folkwang University of the Arts (2013~2016). During her studies, she performed in choreographies by Malou Airaudo, Henrietta Horn, Francesca Zaccaria, Giorgia Maddamma, and Ivan Fatjo Chaves. She also developed her own choreographic works, which received awards from dance festivals such as UWE-Festival 2015, Famiasto Festival FAMA 2015, Tanzfestival SoloDuo NRW + Friends 2015, and 2016.


In 2016, she joined Folkwang Tanz Studio (FTS) and danced in works by Iker Arrue, Rodolpho Leoni, Stephanie Miracle, and PEARSONWIDRIG DANCE THEATER. She continued to expand her dance experience by working with Ai Do Project & Musikene Ensemble in Teatro Victoria Eugenia (San Sebastian) and as a guest dancer at Staatstheater Bremen for a new production directed by Samir Akika. 


In 2018, she worked on a new show with Marie Lena Kaiser, the recipient of the Pina Bausch Fellowship 2018, and participated in the works of Raymond Liew at the CCHD residency program in Heidelberg. 


In 2019, she toured with Leandro Kees (Performing group) for a program sponsored by the Goethe-Institut and the Japan Foundation: Southeast Asia (Myanmar, Thailand, Philippines, and Malaysia). And she danced in “Being far away from ”choreographies created by Chun Zhang, who is the winner of the Kurt Jooss Prize 2019.


In 2020, she worked on two new productions, ‘Mudra’ from jasminefan_dancefilm, founded by Behörde für Kultur und Medien and Hamburgische Kulturstiftung, and "SPECTACULAR FAILURES" from COMEDIA Theater Köln.


Ying has been working with Alexandra Waierstall since 2019 for the new production "BODIES AND STRUCTURE" in collaboration with American artist Rita McBride. She has collaborated with Alexandra and has danced in PEIRAIOS 260 at the Athens Art Festival, performing "Annna³. The Worlds of Infinite Shifts "and developed the video work "My name is tomorrow "during Covid-19.


Ying continues to create her own work and frequently collaborates with musicians on real-time composition, exploring the relationship between sound and dance. In 2018, she produced and performed her solo piece "A~Z" in Taiwan. She has also published her solo work," A ~Z," at EXPLOSIVE 2019-17 INTERNATIONALES FESTIVAL FÜR JUNGES THEATER. 


In 2021, she received funding from the Tainan Municipal Government for her artist's creation plan and was invited by the (Taikang)Taiwan Art Center to publish her work, "Dance as the shell of time" as part of its art festival program.


In 2022, she worked with Alexandra Waierstall for the new creation "IN THE HEART OF THE HEART OF THE MOMENT – embodied by 9 An ode to our times" - Preview in tanzhaus nrw. She also worked on the production "DRUNTER UND DRÜBER" by Keren Levi for the cooperation between FFT Düsseldorf.


In January 2023, I presented two exhibitions that shared the same conceptual framework but were implemented in different spaces. The first exhibition took place at Broom design in Tainan, Taiwan, and was titled "Dance as the shell of time - stay in broom design." Simultaneously, I also showcased the exhibition at Blueprint Art and Cultural Park (BCP), also located in Tainan, Taiwan, under the title "Dance as the shell of time - stay in BCP.


In March 2023, I participated in Alexandra Waierstall's new production - "STAGES INTO THE NOW - A SOLO FOR SCOTT JENNINGS" as an artistic collaboration.The premiere took place at Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf.


In May 2023, I participated in Céline Bellut's new production - "SUDDENLY, A SLOTH CROSSES THE STREET" as a performer. The premiere took place at Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf. September at Tanzfaktur Köln.


In May 2023, as part of the artist platform NOW & NEXT held at Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf, there will be a premiere screening of a short film collaboration titled "Circle" with a film director.


In June 2023, I participated in Alexandra Waierstall's piece 'A line, a gaze, a horizon' as part of the Cyprus Contemporary Dance Festival 2023.
